Telegram’s Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), also called Two-Step Verification or Cloud Password, adds extra security to your account.
Important: It is not mandatory to disable 2FA. You should only turn it off if you are having difficulties completing the integration process. In most cases, you can keep 2FA enabled without issues.
How to disable 2FA on Telegram
Open Telegram on your device (mobile or desktop).
Go to Settings (gear icon or menu button).
Navigate to Privacy & Security.
Select Two-Step Verification / 2FA / Cloud Password.
Enter your current password if required, then turn it off.
Confirm deactivation.
Quick access: open tg://settings directly, then follow steps 3–5.
How to verify if 2FA is disabled
Open Settings → Privacy & Security.
Check the Two-Step Verification section. If it shows “Off” or “Disabled”.
